Maus,  is an story about a survivor talking of how everything in war happened, how were the concentration camps and labor camps for jews, how was Auschwitz. This survivor went to a lot, he sees many tragedies. In here the witness is explaining us a prove of what happened with him, what he lived and how he felt about it. This is not only important to recognized the event but also to prove the capacity if violence the world is experimenting and has experimented.

What I think

I think that the holocaust was a terrible event that causes a lot of unnecessary deaths of innocent people. This testimony proves the tragedy and the suffering of people, this man is explaining what he saw and what he lived. And this testimonies are really important because it shows the pain and really the terrible events a human is able to do. Also helps to control the death based on testimonies. The testimony explain us a method of exterminating people and the created were made for doing it. The Holocaust was an act of intolerance over people with different beliefs and also an act of wanting total power, and wanting to do both at the same time, made this event finishing in a extremely insane number of deaths.

Testimony of Boleslaw Brodecki

Boleslaw Brodecki in his testimony is describing the hangings in the labor camp and their impact on the prisoners. He said they needed to watch hangings after work, that they had electric wires in where they were put between, that they put them in there for 3 days without food and urinating in themselves And they bring them up when, when we come from work. He said that they placed a table and a chair and they hang them and they read some funny sentence and they kick the chair out. He said that some of them were shoot, that they cried saying that the war was going to end and Hitler was going to die. He said they got cold to not bothered anymore.

Context- Ways of killing Masses

The Holocaust was a massive slaughter of humans, the strategies they had for exterminating people were a lot. This strategies were basically composed by, mass shootings, the jews were forced to dig their own graves or simply placed along large mass of graves, and then shot so that they fell into the grave. The gassing trucks in which the jews were forced to enter and then exhaust gas from the engine into the truck. the jews were thus suffocated. One of the most effective killing methods was by forcing Jews into gas chambers, where they were gassed to death using exhaust fumes or Zyklon B. In five of the six extermination camps gas chambers were constructed with the single purpose of killing Jews, gypsies and other ’undesirables’. In the Chelmno extermination camp gassing trucks were used for this horrible enterprise. The procedure of killing the victims in gas chambers was the following: the victims were forced into the gas chamber, the door was closed and either exhaust fumes or Zyklon B-gas was led into the room. In the extermination camps at Belzec, Sobibor and Treblinka exhaust fumes were used, while Zyklon B was used in Majdanek and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Finally, there were the hangings, in which they put the person over a chair for days without any food and then they kicked the chair and hang them.
